How Pricing Works

12.5%
Single global price
$1.25 USD per Verified Water Credit (VWC). One m³ of stress-weighted verified water saving = one VWC. Price is fixed and globally uniform — stress weighting is applied to the volume, not the price.
Transaction fee
A 12.5% MarillionEx transaction fee is added at checkout on top of the credit price. This fee covers registry operations, verification oversight, and platform maintenance.
Revenue split
60% of the credit sale price — before the platform transaction fee — flows directly to the project owner (farmer or rainwater asset holder). MarillionEx retains 40% plus the transaction fee to fund verification, platform operations, and buffer pool management.
15% buffer pool
15% of every batch is held in a buffer pool reserve before any credits enter the active market. Buffer credits cover permanence risk and cannot be sold or retired until released by admin review.
Contribution-only retirement
All credit purchases are non-refundable and locked to retirement upon use. Credits represent a verified real-world water saving contribution. Once retired, they are permanently removed from circulation and recorded on the public registry.
