Already running an efficient irrigation system?
If you're operating drip, micro-spray, greenhouse, hydroponic, or hydroponic fodder systems, you can register your operation now. Every registration is then assessed against our Diamond Standard additionality tests to determine credit eligibility — including whether the saving is additional in your watershed. Verified, eligible projects issue Verified Water Credits, sold on the global marketplace with a 60% revenue share to you.
Running flood, sprinkler, or centre pivot irrigation?
Your operation may qualify for a Marillion-funded upgrade. We pre-finance the new system — drip, greenhouse, hydroponic conversion, or precision retrofit for staple crops. No upfront cost to you. You keep the system, the water savings, and the higher yields. Investment recovery terms are agreed during assessment. Note: direct credit revenue to farmers is not available under the funded-upgrade pathway in the current phase.
Flagship category — Hydroponic fodder systems
Conventional dairy and beef feed production uses around 1,000 litres of water per kilogram of feed. Hydroponic barley sprout systems produce fresh feed in 10 days using under 3 litres per kilogram with recirculation — a 99%+ water saving. Marillion is actively investing in hydroponic fodder conversions across livestock operations. Eligible under Lane B investment.
What is a Verified Water Credit?
One Verified Water Credit (VWC) equals one cubic metre — 1,000 litres — of verified water saving. Corporate buyers purchase VWCs at $1.25 each to account for their water footprint in line with CDP and SBTi reporting frameworks.
As a farmer, you earn a 60% revenue share each time your verified credits sell from your farm's water savings. MarillionEx retains 40% to cover verification, administration, and platform costs.
